Water Safety

Remote Area Water Safety Program

The Remote Area Water Safety Program includes a video which covers vital elements of two sessions. This will provide parents and guardians who do not have access to registered providers with an initial information resource which may be supplemented with further sessions in a town centre or when a registered provider visits their locality.

Royal Life Saving Society will visit the majority of communities that have access to an aquatic venue.

Instructor Training Courses

Free instructor training courses are also being offered to encourage people in remote communities to gain the appropriate qualifications to teach the water safety awareness program.

Prior to undertaking training to gain qualifications to supervise and/or teach water awareness sessions a person must be able to swim at least 400m in a combination of strokes.

The Royal Life Saving Society is a provider for AUSTSWIM, and delivers AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety along with their rescue programs, Bronze Medallion and First Aid.

For more information please contact Royal Life Saving Society on (08) 8981 5036 to discuss the options available in your area.
