Beach swimming

Beach swimming is an enjoyable pastime for people in the Territory. When swimming at a patrolled beach, remember to be water safety wise. Swim between the red and yellow flags and be aware that Box Jellyfish can be present in coastal waters and tidal creeks all year round. Always take vinegar with you to the beach and if you are stung liberally apply it as early as possible to the affected area and seek medical assistance immediately.

Keep Watch

Keep Watch is a public education program developed by Royal Life Saving Society Australia. The program aims to prevent drowning deaths of children in all aquatic locations. There are four main strategies of the Keep Watch program that parents and carers of children are encouraged to undertake to prevent children from drowning.
