Instructor Training



Aim

To provide formal training for identified remote community members to gain the appropriate qualifications in order to teach parents & children under five years of age water safety awareness.

General Information
  • The proposed training program is part of the Water Safety Awareness Program that was implemented in October 2003 in urban and remote regions.
  • Prior to undertaking training to gain qualifications to supervise and/or teach water awareness sessions a person must be able to swim at least 400m in a combination of strokes.
  • The Royal Life Saving Society is a provider for AUSTSWIM, and delivers AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety along with their rescue programs, Bronze Medallion and First Aid.
